A fetal echo is an ultrasound focused only on your baby's heart. It examines the heart's structure, its four chambers, the major blood vessels, and the rhythm in much more detail than a routine scan.
It is usually recommended when there is a family history of heart conditions, a finding on another scan, diabetes in the mother, or certain infections.

You receive the report in the same visit. When a heart condition is found, we explain what it means and help coordinate care with paediatric cardiology and your obstetrician.
