A fetal neurosonogram is a specialist examination of your baby's brain and spine.
It is advised when another scan raises a question about the baby's brain, when there is a relevant family history, or after certain infections in pregnancy.
What it checks
- The detailed structure of the baby's brain
- The ventricles, cerebellum and midline structures
- The spine and its coverings
- Changes over time, compared with your earlier scans

- Babies with a brain or spine finding on another scan
- A family history of a neurological condition
- After certain infections in pregnancy
- Follow-up of ventriculomegaly or similar findings

In keeping with the PCPNDT Act, 1994, this service does not involve determination or disclosure of the sex of the fetus. This is a criminal offence in India and is never performed at this centre.
